Bella Adler, President

Over the past two busy years at Stern College, I was exposed to beautiful spectrum of communities that exist on our campus, and I want to dedicate my final year at Stern College to empowering those communities to thrive. Having grown up in St. Louis, Missouri, attending Yeshivat Kadimah high school, I learned that in order for Jewish communities - small or big - to thrive, we must work differently AND together. Following high school I spent a gap year at Midreshet Torah V’Avodah in Yerushalayim, then continued my love of Tanach as a Jewish Education major in Stern College. I spent my summers at heaven on earth (otherwise known as Camp Stone), and spent the last two on YU’s Counterpoint Israel. My favorite part about Jewish Education is the opportunity we have to create meaningful experiences for our communities. So whether you feel at home in the Beis, in Brookdale, in the science labs, or exploring NYC, know that the upcoming Torah Activities Council will be here to create Torah programming geared towards you. Oh, and I really love to play tennis, read any book, and watch Gossip Girl. So join me on The Met stairs with your yogurt. Let’s shmooze!

Ariella Etshalom, VP of Shabbat Programming

Hi! I’m Ariella Etshalom and I’m your VP of Shabbat (but I also like to go by Shabbat Eema). Since I’m from LA, I obviously love being in the spotlight, but also sometimes don’t know what to do with myself when it snows here in NY. After going to YULA girls high school, I went to MMY for a year and then came to Stern. Here, I’m studying Psychology and Jewish Studies, which means my all time favorite hobby is psychoanalyzing characters in Tanach. Aside from that, I like to explore this crazy city without using a map, make friends with non-creepy people in the park (don’t worry, I don’t talk to everyone!), and shop at the sales racks at pretty much any store. My main goal for this year is to make sure that everyone, “in-towners” and “out-of-towners” alike, has a place here at Shabb@Beren. We have so many exciting programs and speakers coming your way, something for everyone, and we are so excited to spend these shabbatot with all of you!
